Today I had my high school final badminton tournament. I say final because this is the real deal and once you win this, you move on to the next round and so on.
I must say, it is quite intense. I mean who doesn't want first place? Even so, most players are friendly to each other and respectable too. Which I like.
Except in one game previous to mine. As I was watching, it really started to piss me off! These two girls in the singles pool were duking it out, and had difficulty calling in and outs.
Once you play someone that has no freaking idea whether the birdie was in or out, you know you got a real tough and annoying competitor on the other side, or someone completely mental. I mean, if you saw that birdie drop, you know where it dropped, so cut the crap of 'mmmmmmm well.... I think it's out??????'.
This is exactly what was occurring for both these girls! Both were pulling the iffy calls 'ummmm maybe??? I think it's my point???'. Seriously, you just call it as it is.
It was inevitable they would slowly become angrier and angrier at each other for making the worst possible calls. So angry and so intense they got a freaking line judge to come and call the shots. Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Where's the sportsmanship, honesty and trust at now huh? I thought this was absolutely ridiculous.
Idiots.
Anyways, I'm not saying to piss off if you're intense at badminton (because I am intense too), but don't let that intensity get to your head. It will make you lose that decency and respect you get from the sport. If you can't handle that, well then
Piss off.
